Marketing Department
Marketing Department is one of the departments in Co-operation, Marketing, and Textiles Department. It is headed by Hon. Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Sudhirkumar Goel. The objective of the department is to provide infrastructure for the sale of agricultural produce so that farmers get proper rates for their agricultural produce. For this, the department creates Agricultural Produce Market Committees and provides them grants for godowns, roads, auction sheds/halls, and cold storages. To carry out the above-mentioned tasks, the Directorate of Marketing and the Maharashtra State Agricultural Marketing Board have been created.

Duties of Directorate of Agricultural Marketing
- Implementation of Maharashtra Agricultural Produce Marketing (Development and Regulation) Act, 1963, and rules thereunder.
- To set up Agriculture Produce Market Committees, establish submarket premises, and issue notifications regarding agriculture produce as prescribed in the MAPM Act.
- To provide guidance and help to create all facilities in the main market and submarkets of the APMSs.
- To observe the fluctuations in the prices of agricultural produce.
Duties of Maharashtra State Agricultural Marketing Board
- To provide a loan to the Agriculture Produce Market Committees for development activities.
- To give approval to Agriculture Produce Market Committees for their development activities under section 12 (1) of the MAPM Act, 1963.
- To arrange workshops and impart training to farmers regarding farming and postharvest technologies.
- Nodal agency for The Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana, Rural Godowns Scheme, Plastic Crates Scheme, Maharashtra Agricultural Competitiveness Projects, C.A.I.M. Projects, and A.I.D.I.P. Projects.
- To help in registering with APEDA for the export of fruits and vegetables.
