Objectives
- All-round development of Cooperative Movement in the state.
- To improve the supervision of the Cooperatives through enhanced effectiveness of the Audit and Inspection function.
- To provide enabling support and strengthen the Business Development plans (BDPs) of the Credit Cooperatives including Agricultural Credit and Non-Agricultural Credit both Rural and Urban.
- To provide enabling support and strengthen the implementation of the Capacity Building Initiative involving the Maharashtra Rajya Sahakari Sangh.
- To carry out the administrative reforms in order to achieve greater level of transparency and accountability.
Functions
- Handling of major questions and policy in Cooperative sector.
- Effective administration of M.C.S.Act, 1960 & Rules 1961.
- Functions relating to registration, approval of bye laws, amendment, audit, inspection, supervision, supersession of managing committees, appointment of administrators, liquidators, winding up of cooperative institutions.
- To implement statutory, regulatory, developmental, educative and supervisory role in respect of Cooperative Movement in the State by way of keeping alive the hopes of the common people through healthy and wholesome growth of Cooperative Movement.
