Subsidy to Cooperative Lift Irrigation Scheme

The State Government, with a view of reducing the financial burden of running Cooperative Lift Irrigation Scheme has decided to give financial assistance to lift irrigation projects by farmers to the tune of 25% of the project cost approved by the bank or Rs.100.00 lakhs, whichever is less. The scheme has been under implementation since 1994.

The State Government, since the inception of this scheme, has sanctioned a financial assistance of Rs.50.63 crores to 336 Cooperative Lift Irrigation Societies where the total cost of the project was Rs.314.03 crores. The total area of 30,863 hectares was approximately brought under irrigation, benefiting a total of 42,320 farmers.
