Loans to co-operative credit societies for conversion of short-term loans into medium term loan
Extension of co-operative credit for agricultural production is one of the major programme being implemented by the co-operation department.
Short term, medium term and long term credit from the banks is made available to the agriculturists under these programmes.
Short term loans are converted to medium term loan during the case of natural calamities or other such disasters, as declared by the State Govt. which affect recovery of short-term loans.
In this the State Govts contribution is 15%.
In the year 2010-11 a target expenditure of 25 lakhs was fixed which was totally achieved.
Out of sanctioned provision of Rs.100.00 lakh in annual plan 2011-12 expenditure incurred was Rs.85.00 lakhs.
Revised budgetory provision for 2012-13 was 800.00 lakhs, and out of sanctioned provision of Rs.5000.00 lakhs for 2013-14 expenditure incurred was Rs.3615.86 lakhs.
However a provision of Rs.100.00 lakh is budgetted for the current year 2014-2015.
